Our speaker for this meeting is Dr Giri Shankar, Public Health Wales.
Dr Giri Shankar is the professional Lead for Health Protection at Public Health Wales, he was awarded an honorary MBE by Her Majesty in recognition of his services to public health in Wales.
Dr Shankar originally from Bangalore in India, has played a major role in the response to the Coronavirus pandemic in his role as Incident Director .He joined Public Health Wales in 2016 from Public Health England where he was Interim Deputy Director of Health Protection for the Public Health England East of England Centre.
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has told employers not to wait for the Government to reintroduce any emergency measures this winter but to have a reserve plan and regularly review their own Covid-19 safety measures This meeting and subject matter comes at an appropriate time for our members.
