Our speaker Ben Cromie has worked for Swansea Council as Principal Emergency Management Officer for twelve years. He has represented the council at many major emergencies and at strategic command group levels. His experience includes responding to major emergencies such as the current Covid-19 response, Storm Dennis Flooding and the Henley’s Fforestfach Fire.
Ben has also been involved in the planning and preparation of many high profile sport entertainment and political events held in Wales, such as the London 2012 Olympics (Welsh Events), the BBC Biggest Weekend and Wales Air Show.
He has received a Police Commendation Award for his involvement in the Gleison Mining Disaster, 2011.
