HALF DAY CONFINED SPACE AWARENESS COURSE  

MRS Training and Rescue (formally Mines Rescue)

Presented by Gerwyn James, Operations Manager, MRS Training and Rescue

Are you aware of what is a confined spaces?

Do you know if you have any confined spaces work areas?

Approximately 15 people die annually as a result of working in such areas. 

The confined space awareness half day course will cover:

Legislation surrounding confined spaces including rescue arrangements
Definition of a confined space
Reasonable foreseeable specified risks associated with confined spaces including working at height
Examples of confined spaces / enclosed spaces
Categorization of confined spaces NC 1 – NC 4
Minimum competencies required
Equipment associated with entering confined spaces including PPE
Risk assessment / method statements / permits applicable to confined spaces
Gasses

At the end of the course there will be a question and answer session 

A certificate of attendance will be available 

The Alliance consists of South Wales Branch IOSH; Wales Branch IIRSM, Cardiff
and East Wales Occupational Safety Group, South and West Wales Safety Group
& South Wales Construction Safety Group.

MRS Training and Rescue (formally Mines Rescue) have provided confined space
rescue services for many years, making them n one of the most experienced confined
space training companies.

The South Wales Safety Groups Alliance, as a service to our members is providing this
course free of charge,

Unfortunately non attendance after booking will incur a charge of £25 per delegate as the Alliance has to fund the MRS charges and the hiring of the venue. 

If you are a member of IOSH or IIRSM you are permitted to book individual place. If you are a member of Alliances groups you are permitted only two places per member organisation.
