South Wales Safety Groups Alliance Annual Conference and Exhibition
“Improving Safety, Health and Well Being”
Chair of Conference: Siân Clayton, the Head of Field Operations, Wales and the Marches, HSE.
This year’s conference complements not only the HSE’s Helping GB Work Well campaign but also the Wales Health at Work Partnership. It will concentrate on sharing good practice.
Jeremy Bevan (Policy Manager, HSE) will give the keynote address ‘Getting things in proportion: Understanding what proportionate health and safety looks like’.
This is followed by a talk on Occupational Cancer with emphasis on IOSH’s No Time to Lose Campaign.
After the mid-morning break we consider the first of the three HSE priority plans on occupational health viz occupational lung disease with talks on process safety and preventing respiratory disease.
The afternoon sessions concentrate on the other two HSE priority plans: musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) with information about Toyota’s experience of reducing it through design followed by stress, with a talk on mental health first aid – its importance and implementation.
